How do quotes and payment work?

Every rental starts with one itemized quote. The quote lists the unit, delivery and pickup, servicing and tax. There is no fuel surcharge and no card fee. Payment for the quoted amount is made by card at booking. What you are quoted is what you pay unless you change the order.

Businesses on 28-day rentals can request invoicing after the first cycle. Invoices are due on the terms printed on them. The card billing ZIP code must match the card on file.

How long does the event flat price cover?

The event flat price covers 1 to 5 days, including delivery and pickup. Weekend events drop off Friday and pick up Monday, or Tuesday after a holiday Monday, and the extra days are not charged. Event units arrive cleaned, sanitized and stocked. A mid-event service visit is an add-on.

If you keep an event unit past the agreed pickup date, the rental may move to 28-day billing. Ask for a new quote if your dates change.

How does 28-day billing and renewal work?

Construction and long-term rentals bill per 28-day cycle. Each cycle includes weekly service: pump, clean, sanitize and restock paper and sanitizer. The first cycle also includes a delivery charge. The rental renews automatically every 28 days until you request pickup. There is no long-term contract.

Twice-weekly service is available on request at an added cost shown on the quote. A cycle that has started is billed in full.

How do I stop billing?

Billing stops when you call or text (475) 326-5810 to request pickup. Units are not picked up automatically on long rentals. Your request ends billing at the close of the current 28-day cycle. Keep the unit reachable until the truck arrives so pickup can be completed.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before scheduled delivery, with a full refund of the amount paid. Inside 48 hours, a trip fee may apply because the truck and route are already set. Once a unit is delivered, the rental is billed as quoted.

Cancel by phone or text at (475) 326-5810 or by email to info@sheltonportapotty.com. The cancellation time is when the message is received during business hours.

Can I change my order?

Order changes are easiest at least 48 hours before delivery. You can add units, swap a unit type or move dates, subject to availability. You get an updated itemized quote before any price change is charged. Changes after delivery may need a truck trip, which shows on the new quote.

What does servicing include?

Servicing includes pumping the tank, cleaning and sanitizing the inside, and restocking toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Weekly service is included on 28-day rentals. The driver needs a clear path to the unit on service day. A visit that cannot be completed because of blocked access may still be billed.

Who is responsible for damage or loss?

The renter is responsible for loss of, or damage to, rented units beyond normal wear while they are on site. That includes fire, vandalism, tipping caused by others, and moving the unit without permission. Lost or damaged units are billed at repair or replacement cost.

Do not move a unit after delivery. Call if it needs to be repositioned.

What happens if the truck cannot deliver?

A trip fee may apply when the truck arrives and cannot place the unit. Common causes are a locked gate, a blocked spot, a gate narrower than about 48 inches, or ground too soft or steep. The driver calls ahead to help avoid this. A new delivery is then scheduled.

Who is responsible for placement?

The renter chooses and marks the placement spot and confirms the truck can reach it. The spot should be level, firm ground, off septic covers and away from steep slopes. Tier Site Sanitation is not responsible for marks on driveways or lawns from normal delivery, service or pickup.

The renter is responsible for any permit or approval needed for street, sidewalk or public-land placement. Check with the town before delivery.

What may not go into a unit?

Only human waste and toilet paper may go into a unit. Hazardous waste, paint, solvents, oil, chemicals, needles, trash and construction debris are not allowed. Prohibited items can damage the tank and pump truck. Extra cleaning or disposal costs from prohibited items are billed to the renter.

How do winter rentals work?

Winter rentals, roughly November to March, use winterized holding tanks. Freshwater hand-wash stations and flushing units can freeze. Sanitizer or a heated hand-wash station is suggested; a heated station needs a 110V outlet. The renter keeps a clear, shoveled path to each unit.

What about weather delays?

Snow, ice, storms or unsafe roads can delay delivery, service or pickup. Delayed work is moved to the next safe day. Weather delays do not extend or shorten a 28-day cycle, and missed service visits are made up as soon as roads allow.

How do tax-exempt rentals work?

Tax-exempt groups send a valid exemption certificate before booking, by email to info@sheltonportapotty.com. Sales tax is then removed from the quote. Without a certificate on file, Connecticut or New York sales tax is charged and shown on the quote. Certificates are kept on file for later orders.

These terms may be updated. The version posted here on your booking date applies to your rental. See also the privacy policy and the rental FAQ.
